A New Role For Zac Efron

Super cute Zac Efron has had a heck of a year and it's only the first month! The High School Musical cutie not only landed himself in the hospital, but he's also landed a sweet new role! Fans will get to see Zac not only as Troy Bolton in High School Musical 3, but also in the new movie, Me and Orson Welles, directed by Richard Linklater.

Zac stars as high school senior Richard Samuels who comes across Orson Welles' unopened Mercury Theater, while walking in Manhattan one day. Welles ends up casting Samuels in a small part and becomes his mentor. Christian McKay will play Orson Welles.

Efron will start filming the new movie after filming is completed on his current film Seventeen which is similar to 13 Going on 30 with Zac playing a 30 year old who wakes up as a 17 year old.
